2015 Tony nominee Carey Mulligan, currently treading the boards on Broadway in Skylight, is also generating much awards buzz for her on screen work this year. A trailer of her latest film, Suffragette, has just been released and it has "Oscar hopeful" written all over it. Penned by playwright Abi Morgan and helmed by Sarah Gavron, the movie co-stars Meryl Streep (naturally—we did mention the word "Oscar") and Helena Bonham Carter. Suffragette follows women fighting for the vote in early-20th-century Britain and will hit theaters on October 23. Check out the powerful preview below and then Mulligan in the Tony nominated revival of Skylight through June 21.
